A substantial farm track (but, as a right of way, only a public footpath), Dent Gate Lane, leads from the end of the public road (Scotland Lane) over the hill to Copley, passing below Gibbsneese which has a commanding view of the route, as well as the land to the south, forming part of Raby Park. Like all Raby estate farms, Gibbsneese is painted white, which normally makes them stand out like a sore thumb, though they are less obvious on snowy days like this.
