Harling Road station is situated about 11 kilometres east of Thetford and one kilometre west of East Harling. The original building dating from 1845 is still in place > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1702899 to the east of the crossing but the platform has been removed. Its successor > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1702926 is located on the other side on the Ely-bound platform. Freight ceased in 1964 but some 1940s sidings south of the station were retained until 1983. The gated, manually operated crossing gates and the signal box > http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1702939 are still in place. At present the station is served by two trains each way/day catering for Norwich commuters.
