Mill House in The Street

There used to be a working postmill (built around 1808 and demolished or moved in approx. 1878) in Bridgham and some of the millers (but not all) lived in Mill House. Bridgham is a linear village situated along the river Thet which is the southern boundary to the parish. The settlement grew when it became a bridging point across the Thet. During the last forty-five years the Post Office, pub, school and shops have all closed and East harling, two miles to the east, now provides many of the services for the small community.
