The majority, if not all, of the graves in the immediate area are of World War 1 casualties. Their individual graves are on the slope behind this WW 2 memorial. Most of these are of members of the Commonwealth but some are of other nationalities including Greek and Chinese though the latter will have originated from colonies such as Hong Kong and Singapore.
