The photograph on this page of Practising what it preaches by Ian Capper as part of the Geograph project.

The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

The sign on the right had spent all its working life proudly telling drivers to "give way", and so it's only right and proper that it has decided itself to give way. For context see Image It has been due for replacement for some time, with a new sign already in place in May 2009 (see Image). It's not clear why it has remained in situ for so long.
