Victoria Dock and Trafalgar Dock once shared the same entrance; the southern gatepost carries the inscription 'VICTORIA' and the northern gatepost 'TRAFALGAR' Image In 1972, the dock was filled in and a ferry terminal for the British and Irish Steam Packet Company was built. This gateway is no longer in use.
