Entrance to the former Clarence Dock

Clarence Dock was opened in 1830 and was named after William, Duke of Clarence, who became William IV. The dock is known for its connection with the refugees from the Irish famine in the 1840s - Image The dock was filled in in 1929 and a power station was built on the site. Then, in turn, the power station was demolished in the 1990s.
