The rough area is the site of Windy Wall Nook and Hard Bed Pit (Coal) on the 1850, renamed Pit House Farm on a 1930s map. The only surviving part of the farm is the building on the left. To the left, a little behind the camera, was in 1850 'Soft Bed Pit (Coal)'.
