Memorial to George Stevens

Situated in Old Road, Southam, this memorial is to the most successful jockey in the Grand National with five wins. The monument is incorrect in so far as George rode his last winner, 'The Colonel' in the 1870 race. He died three months after finishing sixth in the 1871 race.
