The former Lifeboat Station was built in 1880 and operated from 1881 until it closed in 1925, with a total of 45 saved lives attributed to the Station. In 1925 the St Annes Station merged with the nearby Lytham Station ... however a 'new' Lifeboat Station has opened in St Annes-on-Sea and is shown in accompanying pictures. The original building is now used by a firm of Funeral Directors. The Church in the background is the Drive Methodist Church - formerly The Wesleyan Chapel - and was built in 1892.
