The War Memorial stands at the junction of Sparrow's Herne and School Lane. It was unveiled on Sunday March 12th 1922 by General Earl of Cavan. The artist was William Reid Dick who won a competition for the design. His winning design was however rejected by popular outcry and another design by him substituted.
