The clock stands on Elizabeth Bache corner, the latter named after a long serving shopkeeper, whose shop once stood here. The clock was unveiled at 11.30pm on the 31st December 1999, so Cookley residents could watch the countdown to the new millennium. The clock, which cost £6,500, has a time capsule buried underneath it.
