This area of land is behind the shops on Egerton Road South. The gateway on the left lead to an access road behind the buildings. Since this photograph was taken the railway line has re-opened as part of an extension to the Metrolink tram network and a new station, St Werburgh's Road, constructed a short distance to the right of this view.
