Queen Margaret College,established 1883. In 1895 it was incorporated into Glasgow University following a decision by Glasgow University's commissioners in 1892 to open up the University to women. The College became the Women's Department of the University of Glasgow. It was subsequently part of BBC Scotland's headquarters until the BBC moved to Pacific Quay in 2007.
