Taken from the upper level of the NCP multi-storey car park in John Dobson Street Image A full frontal view of the building is here Image The Civic Centre Image can be seen behind. Notice the barrier that blocks vehicles from the junction of Northumberland Road with John Dobson Street, although all road markings have been left. Northumberland Road used to be a major through route from the east but is now blocked by the Central Motorway to the east and a pedestrianised Northumberland Street to the west. There are proposals for a grand public square here, outside the City Hall, but maybe the Council want to keep their options open.
