The seat is by the front door of this shop Image] that specialises in local haggis. The wording on the seat is as follows:- FERGUS BRAWBUCKET 1814-1868 CHAMPION HAGGIS HUNTER 79,471 COCK 54,212 HEN EILDON HILLS MELROSE 1842 “Nice to Meat You Today” Eildon Hill Haggis…. “They’re Awfie Gid!” 1842 was obviously a glorious season with 133,683 haggis bagged on the nearby Eildon Hills. Numbers have fallen dramatically over the years to the present day estimate of 200, caused no doubt by climate change and global warming.
