Durham Tower, Town Wall

Durham Tower was built for defence along the west side of the 13C-14C Town Walls. This stretch of wall runs parallel to Bath Lane and turns in a north-easterly direction at Herber Tower just past Stowell Street whose junction is visible in the centre of the photo.
