This is fully a week after the major snowfall which affected the village. The road is clear of snow, but the pavements are untouched and distinctly hazardous. Even though it is the middle of the day, it's so dull and gloomy that cars are using their headlamps. The oriental figure sits outside an antique shop, one of two survivors of the seven or eight which used to trade in the village.
