This remarkable landmark is a fine example of iron casting and is a tribute to the town's traditional industry. The clock was erected in 1858 and was funded by a Mr R.P. Davies, manager of the Tredegar Ironworks. It stands 72 feet high and the pillar is wholly composed of cast iron.
