The final slope of the footpath on the north side of Dalton Gill returning to Dalton village provided a long half hour of entertainment for a Swaledale Outdoor Club nordic skiing group. Although the experts were able to make turns in the soft snow, the popular option was simply trying to schuss down and remain upright. There were a lot of failures. I think this one was one of the survivors - just. We eventually had to stop - it was getting dark.
