A minor West Lothian road (administered and not gritted by City of Edinburgh) showing the effects of leaving packed snow without gritting. If this weather was normal, roads would be left like this and traffic would use a winter set of tyres. A period of several weeks of low temperatures is not that common though. Taken in late morning, temperature -4°C.
