On the West Coast Main Line. Wigan's Parish Church, All Saints, is in the centre at the back, with the Accrington brick Town Hall, formerly the Mining College, to its right. The new track on the left has been built to avoid the Liverpool - Wigan local trains having to share the high speed main line.
