Whilst walking past this tower I asked a local woman what this tower is? She replied "Oh, it's only a mobile phone mast, I can't understand why people photograph it". I replied by saying "I thought it was an old folly of some sort". Her answer was "Yes, I think it's a folly to the age of the mobile phone!" I have since checked and she's absolutely right, it is a purpose built mobile phone mast.
