The meadows of the Little Haven nature reserve have been 'improved' to some extent in the past, which is good for farming, but not to wildlife. This meadow in 1999 is mostly of pasture grasses. The management since then has been to encourage the biodiversity by reducing the fertility of the meadows. This has been by mowing and grazing. Little Haven ownership & Management The Little Haven nature reserve land is owned by Havens Christian Hospice http://www.havenshospices.org.uk/ and is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust http://www.essexwt.org.uk/ .
