In the 1970s, OLAU line commenced a ferry service between Sheerness and Vlissingen in Holland. Foot passengers travelled to Sheerness station, but since this was some distance from the ferry berth, OLAU line provided a free bus service to take the passengers to the ferry. Here, the shuttle bus is seen outside Sheerness station, loading passengers for the ferry.
