Approaching Small Heath Station

A New Street to Leamington Spa train approaches at speed, one of many passenger trains that 'skipped' Small Heath, and had 'first stop' at Tyseley or sometimes Acocks Green. At this time, there were services to Leamington Spa from both New Street and Moor Street stations. The towers of the road-level station entrance were similar to the other stations on line with road-above entrances (Tyseley, Acocks Green). Through the centre span can be seen the bare platforms. The platform buildings, waiting rooms and canopies having been demolished earlier in the decade.
