This Elizabeth II-reign postbox is emptied finally at 9am each weekday except Sundays. And except bank holidays, of course – the Next Collection plate was showing Tuesday, since today is Christmas, tomorrow is Boxing Day and Monday is a bank holiday. Whether you class this as the southern end of Bisterne or the northern end of Avon is pretty much academic. In favour of Avon, the box is in BH23 whereas most of Bisterne is in BH24; in favour of Bisterne, though, the signs on the main road welcoming motorists from one to the other are just south of the crossroads.
