This photograph shows part of the footpath that runs from the small village of Thornthwaite in a south-westerly direction towards Thornthwaite Forest and Whinlatter Forest Park. Just beyond the houses shown in this picture the path enters the forest and follows the course of Comb Beck. The path then makes its way to Comb Plantation and the visitors' centre.
