Former Wolverhampton Steam Laundry - Sweetman Street

The Wolverhampton Steam Laundry was established in the 1890s and along with the Pelham Laundry were the major laundries up to the Second World War. The Quaker family owned business went public in 1947 and was operating into the late 1960s. At one time the laundry was the major employer of female workers in the town.
