This view is from a footpath along the hillside below Southowram, and shows the streets of Skircoat with part of the Royal Calderdale Hospital on the left, and Manor Heath Park Gardens to the right. In the distance is the flat topped ridge of Greetland above North Dean Wood. In the valley the railway is visible as a straight line. The lamp-post in the foreground is on Higgin Lane.
