Five skips of brickearth are propelled towards the works from the stockpiles. Actual digging of clay seemed to have finished at this date, but there were enormous stockpiles some distance from the works. Five skips were standard here, but at the same company's Cherry Orchard Lane works three was usual, despite both lines being practically level and with similar locomotives.
