Meltham Hall was built by William Lee Brook, the owner of nearby silk mills, in 1841. The porte cochère is in the ornate style of the later 19C, but might be a modern reproduction. The Meltham Hall estate was given to Meltham UDC c.1945, and the grounds of the hall have become the Robert Ashton Memorial Park, which is owned by Meltham Town Council.
