According to a local. The site of the Church and Parsonage were formerly the terminus of the first railway in Scotland, built by the Duke of Portland to transport coal from the mines of Kilmarnock to the pier at Troon for export. I was also told that the railway wagons were horse drawn. http://holytrinitykilmarnock.co.uk/7.html
