The Geograph project started in 2005 with the aim of publishing, organising and preserving representative images for every square kilometre of Great Britain, Ireland and the Isle of Man.

This was an ongoing opencast mine in the summer of 2004. -- 2013: According to T:UK the triangulation pillar site the area is now backfilled, and has been planted with trees.
