Up until recently there had been a public house on this prominent site on the High Street in Codicote for about 700 years, and this wonderful half-timbered building was the George & Dragon. There is a Francis Frith image from around 1960 taken from a similar position here http://www.francisfrith.com/codicote/photos/the-george-and-dragon-c1960_c320045/ However tastes change and today the building is in use as the "As you like it" Peking restaurant. The photograph was taken at dusk at the end of a wet November afternoon.
