First recorded in 1757 but believed to have existed before that and it finally stopped 'pulling pints' in 1909. It would have been about where the large shrubs now grow, about 100 yards east of West Lane. To the right is the Millpond Estate and to its left, before demolition stood Platform Wharf. When the wharf was demolished it revealed some remains, still open to view, of the Moated Manor House that was built in 1350 and owned by King Edward III (1327-1377).
