First recorded in 1859 and held its licence until 1904. Basically built as a replacement for the 'Watermans Arms' (1756 - 1858) that stood a little to the east but had to be demolished due the widening of the Surrey Basin entrance of the docks. The red and white building on the right is the second air shaft of Rotherhithe Tunnel
