The famous 18th century west front of the Abbey Image is framed by the two tall conifers, centre. Avenue of lime. Big oaks in the parkland. Note the wonderful fence of cleft oak or sweet chestnut (needing repair in places). The restoration of the Abbey has been funded by grants, conversion of the house into apartments, and sale of parts of the grounds for upmarket residential development.
