This firm has been around at Victoria Wharf for a long time, and I did once buy coal there in the early 1990s, when they had plenty in large bunkers separated by massive railway sleepers (from the local dismantled railway, no doubt). There isn't much coal about now, it seems, though there does appear to be some car scrappage, and they provide a chimney sweep service (according to their website). We came by twice this week and on both occasions the "closed" sign was up. A new-ish well painted board on display to the north of the yard offers: Orwell's Boatyard DIESEL COAL GAS BLACKING PUMP-OUTS RE-PAINTING SIGN-WRITING Servicing and Repairs, Chandlery.
