This stone is placed in front of a seat on a small green on Long Cross Hill (http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1585340 ) and reads "Captured from the Germans by the British Expeditionary Force in Italy in the Great War 1914-1918 and presented to the parish of Headley by Lt Col C Bonham RE". This refers not to the seat but to a German gun which was moved from the recreation green to this site but I don't know where the gun is now.
