The former GWR mainline looking towards Wolverhampton. Taken from the A41 road bridge. 1978. Remaining passenger services had ceased in 1972, although the line beyond this point (behind the camera) has been brought back into use as the Midland Metro, trams gaining access to the trackbed via a curve from the Bilston road out of picture to the left at this point. The bridge in the distance carries Sutherland Avenue.
