The New Strongwood public house, Eastway, Eastfield/Osgodby, Scarborough. Yet another public house which has been boarded up. A very sad sight but all too common at the time of writing. There have been major job losses in this area in the last few years so people are tending to not have the money needed to go out drinking like they used to when times were better. The public house seems to be a fairly good barometer to measure the state of the economy and how much money people have to pursue leisure activities, a damning indictment of modern times and the credit crunch.
