Taken by standing on the balance beam of the bottom gates of Cockshutts Lock on the Trent and Mersey Canal (well what else is there to do while waiting for the lock to fill but snoop on the railway?) Looking towards Stoke-on-Trent station. Trains then go to Uttoxeter and Derby and beyond, or to Stone, Stafford, Wolverhampton and beyond.
