The facade of Marischal College is silhouetted against the intense blue of an autumnal morning sky. The building is undergoing extensive renovation - which actually means all but the facade has been demolished and is being rebuilt - to become the headquarters of Aberdeen City Council. It was originally built between 1837 and 1844 and was designed by local architect Archibald Simpson.
