Each autumn, around the first week of November, the passage of Wood Pigeons can be witnessed along the south coast of England. Here in Sussex tens of thousands can be counted on a good day from 7-8.30am following the coast westwards. Flocks of 400 or so are recorded at Wildpark and totalling 3,000 per hour flying south to join the main movement.
