Original pub on the site was the Princess Alexandria built about 1868. It became known as the 'Cock o Monkey'. I do not know when it was demolished or when its successor was built but in 1953 the pub was renamed the 'Cock and Monkey'. The C & M was a large two-storeyed pub that was demolished sometime in the early 2000's and later Myles Court, pictured, was built. Building to the right is part of the Irwell Estate.
