This is the A424, which runs between Stow-on-the-Wold and the A44. Here, looking towards Stow, the road rises to a bridge which crosses the River Evenlode and the London to Worcester main line railway. The site of Adlestrop Station, made famous by Edward Thomas's poem 'Yes, I remember Adlestrop', is tucked between the river and the railway.
