Beyond the narrowboats and cruisers is Lenton North Railway Junction, which forms a triangle with Lenton South Junction and Mansfield Junction. The canals and railways were once in competition, but the railways won and now it seems the roads are taking over. Toton Railway Yard, nearby, is being rationalised once again.
