Built in 1946 to house a local firm of seed merchants, Nuttings, who were based here until 1966 when the business moved to Cambridge following a takeover by Thodays of Cambridge three years earlier. It subsequently housed a publishing firm, The School Government Publishing Co Ltd, owned by the Darby family, hence the name of the premises.
