The name of this section of the field according to the 1844 tithe map that has been enlarged to include Wood Field and Barn Field to the west and Three Cornered Field to the south. All these changes have occurred in the last thirty years. The Wood is the name of the wood on the right whilst the silhouetted outline of the South Downs can just be seen through the haze in the distance. The small strip of maize has been left as cover for game birds.
